This year’s ski trip was one for the books: sunshine so warm we skied in t-shirts, great snow (if a little slushy by afternoon), and—most importantly—a fantastic group of students who stayed injury-free and behaved brilliantly.

Away from the classroom, the quiet ones open up, the class clowns reveal unexpected maturity, and even the most disengaged pupils light up when they conquer a new slope. Over shared meals and chairlift rides, I learned more about them in a week than I had all year.
